Bobbie Buie is a Chicago-based scenic and lighting designer. They graduated from Iowa State University in 2025 with a B.A. in Performing Arts and a B.A. in English. Recent professional experience includes design work at Hope Repertory Theatre, Story Theater Company, and Iowa Stage Theatre Company. They received accolades throughout their time at Iowa State, including the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival National Scenic Design Award for Always Plenty of Light at the All Night Starlight Diner by Darcy Parker Bruce, directed by Heather Currie. They also work as an electrician, scenic artist, carpenter, and stagehand, with recent professional experience at Great River Shakespeare Festival, Santa Fe Opera, Stephens Auditorium, and more. In their free time, they enjoy creative writing, bird watching, and craft beer.
